I don't watch Sherlock but I instantly recognise the actor in this - once again you have managed to create something that would be mistaken for a photo if it didn't have 'painting' in the title.
The light and shadow on his face really help to animate him and bring him out so he looks almost 3D - and as usual the work you have done on the eyes is just amazing. It's the focal point of all your pictures and I love it - eyes are my favourite feature on a person and the care you give them is unsurpassed.
Wow, there's that amazing writing skill you have, you should be an Art critic. Thank you so so much for your comments. The eyes are my favorite parts and I think most people look at that first in a painting and in real life. If you zoom into the eyes, you can see the tiny veins on the eye balls also and his freckles, then you look at his silly lines for his hair and shirt and it looks like my daughter who is seven has painted it lol, but I did the hair and shirt quickly as I wanted the painting to have a bit of flair and free flow about it, if you know what I mean. See I'm a terrible writer
